Most dental treatments for periodontal disease do not require surgery. More often than not, good dental cleaning habits and regular dental checkups will ensure that periodontal disease does not develop.
But despite the best efforts at maintaining good dental cleaning habits, or when tissues, gums, teeth or bones are damaged by the effects of periodontal disease, there are times when surgical treatment is necessary to correct the damage caused by periodontal disease.
